Fakult\u00e4t der Universit\u00e4t Uppsala.<\/p>\n<p>Als ehemaliger Leiter der Abteilung f\u00fcr endokrine Onkologie ist Prof. \u00d6berg auf Endokrinologie und Innere Medizin spezialisiert. Mit 40 Jahren Erfahrung auf dem Gebiet der neuroendokrinen Tumoren ist er der Gr\u00fcnder der Abteilung f\u00fcr endokrine Onkologie am Universit\u00e4tsspital Uppsala. <\/p>\n<p>Er ist au\u00dferdem einer der Gr\u00fcnder und Koordinatoren der \u201eEuropean Neuroendocrine Tumor Society\u201c (ENETS). Seit 2008 entwickeln er und sein Forschungsteam einen grundlegend neuen Ansatz zur Behandlung von neuroendokrinen Tumoren. Die Forschung konzentriert sich vor allem auf Fortschritte in der translationalen Immuntherapie (oder Transferforschung) von Krebs, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der Entwicklung onkolytischer Viren (ein Impfverfahren zur Stimulierung des Immunsystems) liegt. <\/p>\n<p>Bevor er an die Universit\u00e4t Uppsala kam, arbeitete Magnus Essand am American National Cancer Institute (NCI) und ver\u00f6ffentlichte fast 95 wissenschaftliche Artikel.<\/p>\n<p>Er ist au\u00dferdem Mitbegr\u00fcnder von Elicera Therapeuticas AB, einem Immunonkologie-Unternehmen mit Fokus auf der klinischen
