On 7 and 8 September 2026, the Victory NET Foundation participated in the annual INCA Summit in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Foundation was represented by its Operational Director and a representative of the Patient Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over two days, around 40 specialists, patients, caregivers and representatives of patient organisations from different countries shared their experiences and perspectives on key issues related to neuroendocrine tumours (NETs), including early diagnosis, access to care, research and awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the key issues highlighted during the Summit was the continued delay in diagnosing NETs. According to data from the international SCAN 2025 survey presented by INCA, it still takes an average of around five years worldwide from the onset of symptoms to receiving the correct diagnosis. Nearly half of patients initially receive an incorrect diagnosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These figures highlight the importance of raising awareness of NETs, particularly among healthcare professionals who do not specialise in neuroendocrine tumours. INCA\u2019s 2026 campaign, \u201cSuspect. Detect. Neuroendocrine cancer.\u201d<\/strong>, directly supports this effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Discussions also focused on access to information, research and clinical trials. The NET Clinical Trial Finder<\/strong>, developed by INCA, helps patients and healthcare professionals more easily identify NET clinical trials around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Raising awareness among healthcare professionals was also discussed through Think NENs<\/strong>, a training programme designed to improve knowledge and understanding of neuroendocrine tumours among healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beyond the exchange of experiences between international organisations, the Summit enabled Victory NET to identify several areas for further development in Switzerland: strengthening awareness of early diagnosis, facilitating access to reliable information, increasing the visibility of existing resources, and continuing to develop initiatives that address the needs of patients and their caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These two days provided valuable insights to help shape Victory NET\u2019s reflections and future actions, with a shared objective: to improve awareness and understanding of NETs and strengthen support for people affected by neuroendocrine tumours in Switzerland.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" On 7 and 8 September 2026, the Victory NET Foundation participated in the annual INCA Summit in Sofia, Bulgaria.
