World NET Awareness Day 2020

10 November is World NET Awareness Day. On this day, in 2020, NET patients from around the world shared a photo documenting their journey to diagnosis. This movement was intended to highlight the challenges faced by patients and the medical profession in terms of diagnosis. The hashtag #LetsTalkAboutNETS is used to raise awareness of NETs.

According to the SCAN (Survey of Challenges in Access to Diagnostic and Treatment for NET Patients) conducted by INCA, 46% of patients with NETs have advanced neuroendocrine cancer when they are correctly diagnosed – for most of these patients, a cure is not possible. Early diagnosis is the key to improving outcomes.
